The motion on the situation in Mali was moved by MP Agnes Mukabaranga from Rwanda, appealing to humanitarian organisations to come to the aid of populations in distress, according to a statement. Renegade Malian soldiers in March declared they had seized power in protest at the government’s failure to quell a nomad-led rebellion in the north.
